PRESS FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Is there a cost for pass press?
No, press passes are complimentary and are only available to working journalists who intend to cover the event.

Where do I get my press badge?
Press badges are not sent out prior to the events. Please proceed to the registration counter onsite at the event. 

Can I register onsite?
Last-minute press registration requests will be handled on-site, on presentation of press ID, but you are strongly advised to register in advance to simplify the process. (see below for credentials that must be presented onsite)

Where do I book my hotel and other travel arrangements?
Travel discounts are available for CHI events. Please visit www.healthtech.com, locate the conference you are interested in and visit the Hotel & Travel Page of that event.

What titles qualify for a press pass?
CHI does have a strict policy on verifying credentials. Only the following titles will be considered for a press pass:

Titles Accepted: 
Editor-in-Chief, Senior Editor, Executive Editor, Associate Editor, Technology Editor, Managing Editor, Editor, Staff Writer, Reporter, Columnist

Freelance Journalists/Writers
All Freelance Journalists/Writers must provide a letter of assignment signed by the editor of the publication for whom you will be covering the event.

Online Publications: 
You must provide a copy of your business card, as well as a copy of your online publication's home page and the masthead page with your name and title appearing in an editorial capacity or a bylined industry-related article written by you within the last six months. 

I am a Freelance Journalist/Writer, can I obtain a press pass?
Yes, however, all Freelance Journalists/Writers must provide a letter of assignment signed by the editor of the publication for whom you will be covering the event. 

I am a Industry Analysts, can I obtain a press pass?
Yes.  CHI requires Industry Analysts to provide a copy of your business card as well as a copy of a relevant research report or briefing published within the past 15 months that clearly displays your authorship.

What credentials are required for registration?
Press credentials consist of a business card with your name, media outlet and title as well as one of the following:

(1) A copy of publication masthead including your name
(2) A link to your online publication with your name and title appearing in an editorial capacity
(3) An assignment letter from an editor or publisher stating that you are covering the show on behalf of their publication.
(4) A copy of a bylined article published within the past six months.

I have attended CHI events in the past, do I need to resubmit my credentials?
The only time that you will need to resubmit your credentials is if you have left your position for another.

Can I record presentations onsite?
No, CHI prohibits all audio and video recording at all of our events

What groups/titles do no qualify for a press pass?
Please note that the following groups are not eligible for press passes:

• Production companies
• Personal / non-commercial news Web site writers
• Marketing and public relations professionals
